I will pay money for this
ReplyDeleteHoly crap. This is awesome. And I'm not even a Harry Potter fan. (I'm not saying I hate Harry Potter, I'm just saying I'm not like, oooh, Harry Potter, rah rah rah) But seriously, this is awesome, and I can't figure out if I love you or hate you for spending this much time and effort on it. Probably both.
ReplyDeleteCAN I BUY THIS NOW PLEASE
ReplyDeleteWill start the bidding at $150
ReplyDeletesell this, seriously, like etsy or something, this is amazing!!:)
ReplyDeleteCan you please sell this seriously I will pay money for this
ReplyDeleteI would pay so much money for this!
ReplyDeleteHow did you seal the board so its water resistant? Or did you?
ReplyDeleteI used Mod Podge. Just covered the whole thing. I also used it to give the property cards some resilience.
ReplyDeleteThis is amazing! Please start producing them i want to buy one for my family for chirstmas!!!
ReplyDeleteCould you scan all of the cards so we could printi it? Unless you are going to sell it, in which case I'd be interested in buying it. Can you send me an email? Lilybluestocking@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteI just found out that you made it for Ashley and now I definitely love it.
ReplyDeleteSeriously........ This is amazing! They need to make this soon or you should sell them because it is awesome!!
ReplyDeleteThis is amazing! I'm trying to make my own too... where did you find a place to print the board? it's quite large!
ReplyDeleteI'm making one of my own and I've created 4 10x10 board squares. Office Depot will print them, mount them on foam board and laminate them. I just have to duct tape them together into a foldable game board. (All for about $20)
Delete@lilybluestocking: I just printed the cards on some orange and yellow paper I found at the craft store. If you (or anyone else) would like printables, I can convert the pieces of my AI file into pdf's to print on your own.
ReplyDelete@Margaret Li: I have access to a large format (17" wide) printer at work that I can use if I pay for the materials. I actually printed the board in two pieces. The box printouts both fit on a single sheet of 17x22.
could you please send me the pdfs of the pieces for me to print please, :)
DeleteI'll be glad if you send them to this email: kamicamilita@hotmail.com
could you please send me the pdfs of the pieces for me to print and also a close up of the whole board for me to look at? i am wanting to make this for my sister for christmas :) my email address is bobbi_dimasi@hotmail.com
DeleteWill you send me the PDF? Rachaelmbutterfield@gmail.com
DeleteI'd be happy to give you some money or like someone else suggested, donate to a charity in your name :)
DeleteCheck out my latest post: http://designinteched.blogspot.com/2012/07/how-to-make-harry-potter-monopoly.html
Deletecould you possibly make me some printables?! This is freaking amazing!!!!!
DeleteI absolutely, 100% want this... please make this available for purchase!!
ReplyDeleteI'm just a random person coming from Pinterest. I'd pay for either someone to do the board or just for the printouts and instructions. Seriously, this would get my daughter completely interesting in playing monopoly! What a great project!
ReplyDeleteJust another random person stopping in from Pinterest. I also would love to have the printouts for the different parts of the HP monopoly set. I would happily pay you for the files (I can't imagine the ammount of time it took you to make this!) or make a donation to your favorite charity. My kids would flip over this!
ReplyDeleteI love it! Could you send me also the PDFs or/and the AI files? Here is my address: theweekes@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot! This is amazing!
You are an absolute genius, this is so cool. If you could email me the pdf's that would be fantastic, absolutely want to try to make my own. elieshout@gmail.com, thanks so much!
ReplyDeleteThis is awesome!! Could you also send it to me? connorjshumaker@gmail.com, my friend would die if I made this for her! This is so cool! Thank you so much!
ReplyDeleteThere are a lot of files and some are quite large, so rather than send it, I just used a public Google Drive folder. Go to my latest post here: http://designinteched.blogspot.com/2012/07/how-to-make-harry-potter-monopoly.html
ReplyDeleteCan you send me the pdfs please? It would be so amazing to make one for myself. cea001@mcdaniel.edu

DeleteI would really love to know how you got the rustic look on the board/box design. You've got it on the property cards as well, however on the PDF's you've supplied (thank you very much for that by the way), they're just blank (no design, just the text). Is this special paper that you printed onto, or is it some Photoshop effect that you created?
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry to appear to be copying your design, but as they say, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.
I've seen your pdfs, they're amazing! I wondered how did you make it in the first place? was it with adobe illustrator? Would you be able to give me or put the files for the adobe illustrator online? I wanted to change the prices of the bits on the board from dollars to galleons!!! Is this possible to do with the illustrator files?
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, you're God amongst Harry Potter fans!
You can open the PDF's in Photoshop and then use that to replace the dollars with galleons. That's what I did :). Hardest part was making a galleon symbol that actually looked decent. I replaced the dollar signs on all the 'spells' and 'potion' cards too.
Delete@Denno - for my version, I used a parchment texture in Illustrator, but when I created the PDF's to share, I left it out because I noticed that many Monopoly editions keep the property cards unaffected by the theme. It would also allow people to get fancy paper if they wanted.
ReplyDelete@Layth - you can open the PDF files in Illustrator and they should be fully editable.
As for the galleons thing, I intended to use galleons and print my own money, but I simply ran out of time. If I ever get around to it, I'll share what I come up with.
Gosh you are brilliant! I've been looking for this for a while and you're right, people have indeed been stealing it and saying there's really a Harry Potter Edition Monopoly, I think you should pitch your idea to Hasbro! You've done great!
ReplyDeleteAmazing. But honestly, why don't you sell it? You can make a fortune!
ReplyDeletewhere can I get this printed??
ReplyDeleteHi! I just wanted to say thank you so much for all the files! I blogged about it and made sure to link and credit you! :D
ReplyDeleteWhy is this not sold in a shop near me yet?
ReplyDeleteI hate Monopoly, but this is one Monopoly I would pay for.
ReplyDeleteVery cool!
ReplyDeleteGreat!! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI realise I'm a little late to the party but I second all the comments...I would pay for this. You should market it to MB. This version is the best online I've seen!
