Harry Potter Monopoly

I wanted Harry Potter Monopoly, but there is no Harry Potter Monopoly. So I designed and made my own. I don't want to explain the whole process, just look at the pictures. It did take quite a lot of planning, design, and work, so please don't sell it as your own.

Yes, that's the Knight bus as Free Parking.

Azkaban and Weasley's Wizard Wheezes, favorites.

A blue dementor sends you to Azkaban.

The flying Ford Anglia and the Floo Network.

Instead of Community Chest, they're Spell cards.

And instead of Chance, Potions.

Some favorite Spells and Potions cards.

Some property cards close up.

This is the bottom of the box.
The original board design. I had to put that annoying watermark on it because people have been stealing.

    I used Mod Podge. Just covered the whole thing. I also used it to give the property cards some resilience.

      I'm making one of my own and I've created 4 10x10 board squares. Office Depot will print them, mount them on foam board and laminate them. I just have to duct tape them together into a foldable game board. (All for about $20)

    @lilybluestocking: I just printed the cards on some orange and yellow paper I found at the craft store. If you (or anyone else) would like printables, I can convert the pieces of my AI file into pdf's to print on your own.

    @Margaret Li: I have access to a large format (17" wide) printer at work that I can use if I pay for the materials. I actually printed the board in two pieces. The box printouts both fit on a single sheet of 17x22.

    I would really love to know how you got the rustic look on the board/box design. You've got it on the property cards as well, however on the PDF's you've supplied (thank you very much for that by the way), they're just blank (no design, just the text). Is this special paper that you printed onto, or is it some Photoshop effect that you created?

      You can open the PDF's in Photoshop and then use that to replace the dollars with galleons. That's what I did :). Hardest part was making a galleon symbol that actually looked decent. I replaced the dollar signs on all the 'spells' and 'potion' cards too.

    @Denno - for my version, I used a parchment texture in Illustrator, but when I created the PDF's to share, I left it out because I noticed that many Monopoly editions keep the property cards unaffected by the theme. It would also allow people to get fancy paper if they wanted.

    @Layth - you can open the PDF files in Illustrator and they should be fully editable.

    As for the galleons thing, I intended to use galleons and print my own money, but I simply ran out of time. If I ever get around to it, I'll share what I come up with.

    For those who can't seem to download, here's my short version of my success story.
    Get Google Chrome (free browser). Open the page in Chrome. Click on the thumbnail. The box and board won't show up as a picture. Don't worry.
    At the very bottom right, sort of outside the frame where the picture is, there is a little blue box that says open. Right beside it is a down arrow. Click on it. There will be a warning banner at the bottom of the page. Press keep. Done! It works on the board and box too. They are just too big to open online. They open fine now that I have downloaded them.

    So, I wanna print this out, but I'm translating it to Portuguese because not all of the people I'd play this with know English. I'm covering up the English in photoshop and placing the translation on top... but, when I save it (saving it as pdf, just like the originals here), the quality isn't as good... the letters get kinda smudged... I'm far (very far) from being a photoshop expert (I'm actually surprised that I managed to do this much), so does someone have any tips or any idea what I might be doing wrong? Aside from that, it looks pretty good.

      If you inform them that its a Free PDF from online or let them know its Home Made They should be able to do it. Just saying, In many cases yes Staples requires it but if its online or free to access like the first CAH pdfs they will still print it.

    Hello, Monopoly and the Harry Potter logos are trademark protected. Please do not bring these images to a local printer and ask them to print out your board. Print it at home, otherwise if they charge you for your printing, they are in trademark infringement and can lose their business!! Be considerate and try to protect them also! Thanks!!

    I downloaded the pdfs to make this awesome monopoly. I just noticed that one of the potions cards says "Pay poor tax of 255 sickles, or 15 galleons", whereas the whole game is based on Gringotts $ bank notes. So... what do you do when you pick that card?
